OH SUMMIT 2019 – The continuation of a long success story

A round-up of a week full of training, learning and fun

2 event hotels, 11 parallel tracks, more than 150 Community BIZ sessions  and hands-on hotLabs, traditional community activities, an exclusive keynote dinner at the British Embassy and 450 visitors from 39 countries – this is the brief summary of this year’s OH Summit, which took place in Berlin from 16 to 19 September. Our thanks go above all to our sponsors DERDACK, ATAR LABS, SMART SIGNATURE and RSI INFORMATICA, whose commitment and presence in the Tech Lounge have brought even more variety, and of course to all the participants who helped make the Summit a great success once more with their coming.

According to this year’s motto “ Imagine – Connect – Inspire”  the OHSummit  offered a wide range of technical product training, hands-on hotLabs on trend topics such as RPA, Security and Hybrid IT Management and Productivity as well as preparatory labs for Micro Focus certifications and current product roadmaps. From the delegates’ point of view, the ITOM Track was particularly well attended at the Community Biz Sessions. Often the available space was not sufficient, so that some participants even had to follow the presentations while standing on the floor. Also the security topics, especially the Hotlab “Hacking – a Tutorial for everyone” and the collaboration topics around Filr, GroupWise, Vibe and Co. were among the best attended sessions. It was also good to see that more than 50 certifications were obtained and conducted during the 4 conference days. This clearly shows that the congress participants accepted the new offer well and appreciated it a lot.

However, the unique learning opportunities are by no means all that the OHSummit has to offer. There are also so many possibilities to meet with experts who build and support the Micro Focus technologies you’re using and evaluating, and all this in a unique and relaxed atmosphere, which makes the OHSummit so special. Collaborate via unique activities, share ideas and perspectives, and have a little fun along the way – that is still the heart of the Summit. And so this year again there was quite a lot of nearly endless opportunities to make long-lasting connections, discover fellowship and meet other with similar interests – whether during the exclusive Keynote Conference Dinner at the British Embassy, or during the Community Quiz Night on Wednesday evening or at the traditional City Run or the Light & Laser Show at the Parliament building.

And so this year again there was a whole range of almost endless opportunities to make lasting connections, discover community and meet others with similar interests – whether during the exclusive Keynote Conference Dinner at the British Embassy, or during the Commnity Quiz Night on Wednesday evening or at the traditional City Run or the Light & Laser Show at the Parliament building.

To sum up, it can be said that learning does not have to be boring – on the one hand it always depends on the content and on the other hand how it is presented. The OH Summit has once again demonstrated this impressively. OH Summit 2019 that is now history, but we are already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year at the OH Summit 2020.
